“But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:23

When:
Children’s Church (During the Sermon, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m)

Where:
The Garden (Downstairs, West side)

Who:
Boys and Girls, Ages 5 - 9

We encourage every child to attend the Worship service with their parents (and fill out the Sermon Notes for Young Disciples) when they are ready. In the meantime, the Garden is a children’s church class that meets during the sermon.  This class has a Bible lesson, and learns more about our “monthly spiritual focus”.

During Children’s Church we:

  • Study the Bible:  We use the Read and Share Bible to learn the stories from the New Testament and discuss how we can apply the stories to our lives.
  • Pray:  We spend time in prayer together talking with God about what we learned and asking Him to help us apply it to our lives. We also learn how to show respect to God by siting quietly with our hands in our laps and our heads bowed.
  • Build Community:  We enjoy spending time with each other playing with various toys and doing an activity or craft that correlates with our theme of the day.
  • Prepare for Attending the Worship Service:  We work towards getting ready to attend the regular church service by sitting quietly and listening to the teacher as he or she reads us stories from the Bible and learning how it can apply to our lives.
  • Theme of the Day:  We spend time together throughout the service discussing the Monthly Spiritual Theme and how we can incorporate into what we do throughout the week.
  • Repeat Scripture:  As a group we go over the verse of the month for the Children’s Ministries.
  • Review:  We spend time together reviewing last weeks lesson and what we learned from it.
