Grades K-6

There are three ministries targeted at grade school age children at Wyoming Park Bible Fellowship.  Each ministry has a distinct focus, but they are designed to work together so that children who attend all three events receive the most well-rounded experience in learning to enjoy God and his Word.

Young Disciples

Young Disciples is the name the classes that take place during the Sunday morning Sunday school hour (11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.). The main focus of Young Disciples is discipleship, so Bible stories are taught in a classroom setting with activities that reinforce the lesson.

Young Explorers

Young Explorers is our “mid-week” program for grade school age children that takes place on Wednesday nights (7:00 p.m. - 8:00p.m.) during the school year.  The main purpose of Young Explorers is to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for children to explore who God is. Grades K-3 and 4-6 are split up and rotate through the following “stations”:

Verse Time (20 minutes)

Each Young Explorer has a book of verses to memorize. For each verse that they can recite, they receive points. Each semester, the Young Explorers can “spend” their points at a store. For every week that the Young Explorer recites at least one verse, he or she will earn a piece of candy.

Game Time (20 minutes)

Game time is definitely a favorite at Young Explorers. We have a lot of relay races and other team games. Our favorite game of all is “Spider in the Web.”

Story Time (10 minutes)

During our story time, Pastor John tells Bible stories from the same group of verses we are working on memorizing.

Snack Time (10 minutes)

Kid-friendly snacks that are fun and different every week!

Young Travelers

Young Travelers is a 3 day “Kids Night Out” that takes place once every summer. Our main focus in Young Travelers is providing a really fun time for the kids who come. We have crafts, snacks, games, videos, songs with the worship team, puppet shows, and Bible stories. For more information about this year’s Young Travelers, click here.
