End of the semester

This is the last week of Attic After School for the Spring 2012 semester. This semester has just flown by. And, I can not begin to praise God enough for how much he has blessed me this semester. In the fall 2011, I was tired, drained and exhausted. I was not ready to start Spring 2012 (http://www.wpbiblefellowship.org/index.php/site/view/3_promises_for_2012/). However, God is so good and blessed us immensely this semester.

We had the joy of leading one of your student’s to Christ, less than a month before her father passed away, and it was beautiful to hear her say “I know God is good, and he has a plan.” at her father’s funeral.

We have begun to strengthen relationships with our students parents as well. It is so amazing to hear parents of these students to say “I think Attic After School is important, and it is having a positive impact on my child.”

I am learning too. I have learned how important it is for me to keep on doing the right thing, even if I don’t see the fruits of my labors, because that is up to God. And you never know what a student hears, or sees, or when they are going to say “I want to get saved today.”

It is such a miracle.

I am going to miss this group of students very much this summer. But, God is good. He will provide, He will love, and I do not need to worry.

LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Camp is for the camper.

Camp is for the camper, not necessarily for ease, convenience, or enjoyment of the staff.

3 Promises for 2012

Sharing the gospel refreshes the soul

Your Love Never Fails

Patience

I used to pride myself that I was not a worrier and that I was a patient person. But as we live our lives according to the Lord’s will and plan for our lives, he continues to make us more like him and therefore, he tends to work on areas in our life that is not reflecting his image. Which also means some growing pains.

Glory to God Forever

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:28-30

God Provides

I spent the past summer working at a summer camp for campers going in to 3rd grade to going into their freshman year of college. Before campers arrived, we as counselors and staff spent 2 weeks on intensive training. And when I say “intensive” I do mean it. Two weeks from 8am to 11:30pm of classroom training and learning how to reach the campers and how to survive. But the one thing that stands out to me through all the training was the director’s assurance to the staff that God will provide.
